Alright. I can no longer fool myself into believing this blog is going to somehow write itself. As you can easily tell by looking at the most recent previous post, I've been trying
really hard to believe in the self-writing concept, but today I've just run out of steam on the idea, and
THE STORY MUST BE TOLD!
Here's how this is all going to work. I made a conscious decision not to spend much (read "any") time on this blog while we were in Korea. The reason was twofold:
- I wanted to fully devote my attention to what we were doing, and live in the moment as much as possible.
- I am extremely lazy

Because of items 1 and 2 above, I knew I had to have a plan or risk losing precious memories forever, as well as feel like a dumb-ass for setting up this blog in the first place, so I hit upon a couple of great ideas: take lots of pictures, and keep a journal to transcribe into the blog upon my return! Blam, I am a genius. Each morning, I would spend a few minutes making notes on the previous day's activities for future blogging. In between journal entries, I took lots of pictures, as did Alicia. In my case it was more like spastically pressing the "Shoot" button on my crummy camera - I often only captured the inside of my pocket, or a passing sightseer's nostril; in Alicia's case, it was a skillfully executed dance of color and light. At left is a picture I shot at Gyeongbokgung Palace in Seoul. It's not chronologically accurate since it was taken near the beginning of our second week in Korea, but this post looked kind of bland without any photos, and I really liked that pavillion. Live with it!
The following posts will chronicle (on a day-by-day basis) our trip to Korea. I'll enter them as I entered them in my journal, one day at a time. Hopefully I'll get to one of these entries every day until it's complete, but I might not. I'm about to change jobs (suck it, Old Job - you know who you are), and might get busy unexpectedly. Also, if you would simply look two paragraphs back, you will read that
I am lazy. You forget so quickly.
So, without further ado, I will stop for the day. You thought I was going to enter Day 1 here or something, didn't you? Well, no dice.
